Snow's Garden Center
Bulk Materials
Mulch, topsoil, gravel, decorative stone, and boulders — by the cubic yard, the pallet, or the truckload. Delivered across Central Virginia or picked up at our Avon Street yard. Our Garden Center team will follow up within one business day with current pricing and delivery options.
Snow's Famous
Mulch
Our biggest bulk category — and the one we're best known for. Four mulch lines, all clean, weed-free, and bagged or by the cubic yard. Delivery available across Central Virginia, or pick up at our Avon Street yard.
Double-Shredded Hardwood
Premium aged hardwood, dark brown, knits together to suppress weeds and retain moisture. Our most-requested mulch for shrub beds, foundation plantings, and tree rings.
Pine Bark
Classic reddish-brown pine bark — coarser texture than hardwood, slower to break down, ideal for acid-loving plants and woodland gardens.
Dyed Brown
Bright color-enhanced brown that holds its tone through the season. Popular for newly-installed landscapes and commercial properties where uniform color matters.
Dyed Black
Deep, rich black that makes plants pop and lawn lines look crisp. Color-enhanced, retains the look longer than natural mulches.
Premium Planting Medium
Topsoil & Compost
Premium Shenandoah Valley topsoil amended with aged, composted horse manure — the medium we use ourselves when we're planting estate shrub beds. Loamy, dark, screened, ready to plant in.
Snow's Premium Topsoil
Screened Shenandoah Valley topsoil amended with composted horse manure. The planting medium for shrub beds, vegetable gardens, raised beds, and new-lawn seedings. Ask about by-the-yard pricing for larger projects.
Composted Leaf & Bark
Aged leaf compost and shredded hardwood bark for soil-building, mulching paths, and amending heavy clay. Lighter and fluffier than topsoil — great as a top dressing.
Pure Compost
Composted horse manure, fully broken down. Use as a topdressing for lawns, a soil amendment for vegetable gardens, or worked into new planting beds.
Driveways · Drainage · Pathways
Gravel & Stone Dust
From driveway base to French-drain backfill to a decorative pea-gravel path — we stock the gravel sizes Central Virginia projects actually need, in cubic-yard quantities or by the truckload.
Stone Dust (Screenings)
Fine, packable, the right base under paver patios and walkways. Compacts hard, drains well, and gives flagstone a stable bed.
Crusher Run (Grey)
Mixed sizes from dust to ¾" — the workhorse for driveways, road bases, and heavy-traffic pads. Locks together when compacted.
57's Driveway Gravel
Clean ¾" stone, washed, no fines — for finished driveway top coat, French drains, and dry wells. Drains freely.
Pea Gravel
Smooth, rounded ⅜" stone — for decorative paths, dog runs, fire-pit aprons, and play areas. Comfortable underfoot.
Decorative River Stone
Smooth, multi-color rounded stone in three sizes (small, medium, large). For dry creek beds, accent borders, and decorative ground cover.
Walls · Steps · Accents
Stone & Boulders
Wall stone, flagstone, steps, and feature boulders — the same materials our design-build crews use on estate projects, available by the pallet or by the piece.
Wall Stone
Sunrise Mountain, Weatherface, Maple Creek, and Pocono Blend in dry-stack or mortared sizes. For garden walls, retaining walls, fire-pit surrounds, and seating walls.
Pennsylvania Flagstone
Natural cleft flagstone in irregular and pattern-cut sizes — for patios, walkways, and stepping stones. Bluestone-grey to warm earth tones.
Garden Path Stones
Weatherface steppers and Belgian block for borders and accents. Hand-pickable from the yard.
Shenandoah & Oakridge Boulders
Feature boulders for entrance accents, focal points, and naturalistic plantings. Range from one-person-can-handle-it to needs-the-skid-steer.
Cut & Hand-Cut Steps
Cast-concrete and natural-stone garden steps for slope transitions, terrace edges, and porch landings.
