Leadership

The folks running the place.

Corbin Snow

Owner & President

Corbin studied business and marketing at BYU-Idaho. He joined the family business full-time in 1997. In 2003 his father Duane Snow retired, selling the business to his son. Corbin is the sole owner and President of the company. He is responsible for managing, building, and driving business development, bringing over 20 years of business and horticultural experience to the landscape industry.

His passion for landscapes started at an early age while working with his father and grandfather in the family business. In 2008 he and the business were recognized as the National Landscape Company of the Year. Corbin oversees every project and enjoys the relationships he is able to build with customers throughout the design and installation process.

He loves spending time with his family, church, traveling, hiking, photography, basketball, beach, waves, sunsets, sunrises, food, and all things UVA. Happy gardening!

Norm Carlson

Operations Manager & Buyer

Norm is our Operations Manager and Buyer. He's been at Snow's since October of 1987, working at different times in the Garden Center, Grounds Maintenance, and Landscape divisions.

He graduated with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture in 1986 from BYU. He has taught the turf portion of the Master Gardener Training Course with the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service for several years. He is also the co-host of the SnowKnows Garden Show each Saturday morning on WCHV radio.

Design Team

The people who planyourproperty.

Five landscape architects and designers, three with degrees from UVA, BYU, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia University. Decades of residential design experience between them.

Kate Sedgwick

Landscape Architect (CAD)

Kate, a Charlottesville native, holds a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, and a Master's in Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia. She has been a practicing landscape architect for 32 years, including 22 years in Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

Kate specializes in designing gardens and creating master plans for private residences. Her projects range from intimate townhouse garden rooms to expansive landscapes featuring gardens, pools, sport courts, patios, and outdoor kitchens. She is passionate about the construction process and brings hands-on expertise to every aspect of her work.

Beyond her work, Kate loves gardening and cooking — especially outdoors. She has an impressive collection of BBQs and smokers and enjoys spending time outside with her two dogs. A devoted Wahoo fan, she never misses an opportunity to cheer on UVA.

Patrick Crusse

Landscape Architect

As a Charlottesville native, Patrick spent many years exploring the woods and creeks of Central Virginia. That love of the outdoors naturally developed into an interest in plants and outdoor spaces.

Patrick began mowing lawns at the age of eight. His first full-time job was as a landscape laborer and, climbing the ladder, he eventually managed several crews for a local design-build firm. After graduating from West Virginia University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, Patrick began working with clients to develop and implement landscape plans for their homes and offices.

His grass-roots work history led Patrick to open his own business in 2004, and he continues to practice as a Landscape Architect today. He brings decades of hands-on experience and a multi-faceted knowledge of outdoor construction to every project.

Noah Stoner

Landscape Designer

Noah is a Virginia native, growing up in the Williamsburg area of Eastern VA. He has 6 years of experience in the field including lawn maintenance, hardscape installation, and irrigation.

In 2022 he graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Management. He then joined the Snow's team as a landscape designer soon thereafter. He is excited to combine his field experience with his creativity to produce functional and beautiful outdoor spaces.

In his free time, Noah enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, church, baseball, hiking, and music.

Zach Pittinger

Landscape Designer & Horticulturist

Zach's first introduction to our industry began at the Behnke Nurseries Company in Washington, D.C. Growing up in both rural and urban areas, Zach gained an appreciation for plants working with his parents in their home vegetable garden. As a youth, he became invested in landscape design as a hobby and now thoroughly enjoys creating “designed plant communities.”

Having graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Horticulture, Zach plunged into residential design and maintenance working with high-end residential clients in Bethesda, Potomac, Georgetown, and Great Falls, VA. He later moved into higher education, working for the University of Maryland and becoming the Horticulture and Grounds Manager for George Washington University. Zach has worked exhaustively with native plants. He holds his Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional Certification (CBLP) and has mentored under numerous well-known horticulturists.

Outside of work, Zach enjoys hiking, cooking, tennis, history, and biblical studies. Most recently he relocated to Charlottesville to pursue his desire to marry his now wife, Maegan.

Trevor Chandler

BYU Campus Intern Director & Landscape Designer

Trevor loves serving the Charlottesville community. He worked at Snow's as a Garden Center Associate and Landscape Crew Member before earning a degree in Landscape Management from Brigham Young University. He then rejoined Snow's as a Landscape Designer.

During his studies at BYU, he gained extensive education and experience in computer-aided landscape design and horticulture. He also helped establish the annual Snow's Internship Program, which helps college students and young professionals gain experience in the landscaping industry.

Trevor enjoys the beach, fishing, spending time in nature, fishing, traveling with his wonderful wife, and fishing.

Office

Your point person, start to finish.

Tammy Judge

Office Manager

Tammy joined our team here at Snow's Garden Center in May 2016, taking the position of Office Manager. She wears many hats that help keep our office, garden center, and landscape/hardscape departments running like a well-oiled machine. She is the first person you talk to when you call to set up a consultation, and will place you with the best estimator/designer that matches your project needs. She'll be your point person from beginning to end of the project.

Prior to starting at Snow's, she was the Office Manager for 11 years at Dixon Disposal, a family-run local business that served our community for 40 years.

On her free time away from Snow's, she likes to spend time with her friends and family, travel, eat at great restaurants, scrapbook, and follow all UVA sports. Go Hoos!

Garden Center

The folks who'll help you pick the right plant.

Horticulturists, floral designers, and merchandisers who know what works in Central Virginia soil and climate. Stop in and ask — that's what they're here for.

Kathryn Nokes

Assistant Manager & Horticulturist — Retail Merchandising & Floral

Kathryn has had an interesting and varied career in horticulture since graduating with a B.S. in Horticulture from Virginia Tech. She started out in landscape design and nursery work in Richmond then moved to Randolph College in Lynchburg as the Director of Grounds. After moving back to Northern Virginia, she acquired experience as a landscape designer, floral designer, teacher, and land planner.

She taught Planting Design at Northern Virginia Community College and went on to conduct floral design and wreath-making workshops. Here in Charlottesville, she grew and sold flowers and herbs and her hand-made jewelry at the City Market for 7 years before accepting a full-time position at Monticello and becoming the head grower at Tufton Farm.

She is glad to have landed at Snow's Garden Center, utilizing all her experience and talents in a positive and community-oriented environment. In her free time, she enjoys nature, hiking, gardening, traveling, family gatherings, and the beach.

Mason Baber

Garden Center Manager

Mason has joined our Snow's team as one of the managers of the garden center and special projects manager. He's a third-generation native of Buckingham County. In the 40s, his grandfather purchased a small plot of land where he settled and had a family. With the help of his wife, mother, and family, they intend to continue their efforts in being good stewards of the land and promoting good environmental practices by running a small tree farm and wildflower nature conservation project in Buckingham County.

Mason has been involved in property maintenance, construction, and landscaping his entire life. He spent five years in the equestrian field, traveling abroad for work. While at Snow's he brings a passionate and positive attitude every day, guiding customers through their landscaping needs.

When not working, Mason enjoys spending time with loved ones, kayaking the James River, trying new foods, and just being outdoors.

Suzan Desrosiers

Bulk Materials Scheduler & Horticulturist

Suzan grew up in rural Western Pennsylvania and discovered her love for all things horticulture spending summers in her grandmother's organic vegetable and flower gardens.

In 1993, Suzan took the Master Gardeners program through Virginia Tech. She quickly acquired a position in the Gardening Department for the City of Fredericksburg, becoming the Head Gardener with a team responsible for creating and managing numerous gardens, city properties, and parks throughout the area.

Suzan's career took her to a premier garden center in the Pacific Northwest, then back to Virginia in 2021 to be closer to her children and extended family. A friend suggested she contact “this great independently owned company called Snow's Garden Center,” and the rest is history. Her interests include all things green: gardening, family, reading, music, wine, good food, and great conversation.

Mascot

And one morevery importantemployee.

Sabre Cavalier

Garden Center Mascot

Sabre is one of our best employees. He's a massive UVA fan (hence his name) and loves plants and flowers even more than kitty kibble. His friendly furry face is always ready for a scratch from cat-loving customers.

Sabre loves hiding and playing in the nursery and works hard to keep the plant-unfriendly critters away. You'll find him most days hunting the grounds, hiding in the flowers, or napping on his counter-top bed. Feel free to bring your pet next time you visit — Snow's is more than happy to accommodate.
